The top two seeds in both the Cadet Boys’ and Cadet Girls’ Team events at the French Junior Open in Vern sur Seiche, duly reached their allotted semi-final places, following the group stage matches and the quarter-final encounters held on Friday 8th June 2007. In the Cadet Boys’ Team event the first and second seeds, Japan and Germany came through successfully as did their counterparts, Romania and Germany `A’ in the Cadet Girls’ Team competition. 08/06/2007 : Portuguese Hopes End as Hosts Impress and Indonesians Spring Surprise (Ian Marshall, ITTF Publications Editor)
Portugal, having fought valiantly to record nail-biting wins in the group stage and thus reach the quarter-finals of the Boys’ Team event at the French Junior Open in Vern sur Seiche on Friday 8th June 2007, experienced heartaches in the round of the last eight. Top seeds France put an end to the adventures of Portugal `B’ recording a three-nil victory, whilst Indonesia sprung the surprise of the round by overcoming Portugal `A’, the fourth seeded team, by three matches to one. In the two remaining quarter-final contests third seeds Germany beat the Netherlands three-one, whilst second seeds Japan secured victory without the loss of a single individual match against Spain.[...]

08/06/2007 : Germany and France Progress as the Netherlands Suffer in France (Ian Marshall, ITTF Publications Editor)
Group Two provided the thrills and spills in the Girls’ Team event at the French Junior Open in Vern sur Seiche on Friday 8th June 2007 with Germany, France and the Netherlands each recording one win and one defeat. The Netherlands beat Germany three-one in the opening contest, Germany then overcame France three-nil, whilst in the last match France defeated the Netherlands three-nil. Therefore, taking the actual match scores into account, Germany finished in first place with France second and the Netherland third. Two teams quailed for the second stage; therefore Germany and France progressed with the Netherlands being the team to suffer. [...]

08/06/2007 : Heart Stopping Moments for Portuguese Boys in Vern sur Seiche (Ian Marshall, ITTF Publications Editor)
The third day of play, Friday 8th June 2007, at the French Junior Open, was a day that tested Portuguese nerves to the full in the Boys’ Team event.
Seeded four, Portugal `A’ represented by Vitaly Efimov, Ivo Silva and André Silva won a nail-biting three-two victory over the Spanish trio of Juan Morego, Endika Diez and Alvaro Robles, whilst Portugal `B’ almost caused a major shock. Playing the second seeded Japanese team of Jin Ueda, Yoshikazu Kai and Kentaro Muichi, the triumvirate of Diogo Silva, André Teixeira and Diogo Pinho suffered defeat by the very narrowest of margins. 07/06/2007 : First ITTF World Junior Circuit Boys’ Singles Title of the Year for Frenchman (Ian Marshall, ITTF Publications Editor)
Winner of the Boys’ Singles event at the Algerian Junior Open on March 2006, France’s Abdel-Kader Salifou won his first ITTF World Junior Circuit Boys’ Singles title of 2007, when he justified his number one seeded position at the French Junior Open in Vern sur Seiche on Thursday 7th June 2007. A semi-finalist in the Boys’ Singles event at the ITTF World Junior Circuit Finals in 2006, the French teenager was in sparkling form; at the penultimate stage he accounted for Japan’s Kentaro Miuchi 11-8, 7-11, 11-9, 13-11, 11-5 before defeating Latvia’s Matiss Burgis in impressive style. Romania’s Elizabeta Samara, the number one seed in the Girls’ Singles event at the French Junior Open in Vern sur Seiche, won her sixth ITTF World Junior Circuit Girls’ Singles title of the year, when she clinched gold on Thursday 7th June 2007. In impressive style she accounted for compatriot Cristina Hirici in the quarters, Germany’s Zhan Ying-Ni in the semis and Norway’s second seeded Ma Wenting in the final.[...]

06/06/2007 : Top Seeds Stamp Authority on Proceedings at French Junior Open (Ian Marshall, ITTF Publications Editor)
Romania’s Elizabeta Samara, Norway’s Ma Wenting, Germany’s Zhan Ying-Ni and Solvakia’s Sona Hudecova, the top four seeds in the Girls’ Singles event at the French Junior Open in Vern Sur Seiche, all successfully negotiated the group stage matches on Wednesday 6th June 2007. Similarly, fifth seed Germany’s Katharina Michajlova remained unbeaten as did eighth seed Romania’s Anamaria Sebe but for the sixth and seventh seeds there were defeats. Sixth seed Slovakia’s Jana Medrikova suffered at the hands of Romania’s Ioanna Ghemes whilst seventh seed, the latter’s compatriot, Irina Hoza, was beaten by Alice Abbat of France. [...]

06/06/2007 Jour d'ouverture réussi pour les garçons avec des yeux sur de plus grands objectifs (Ian Marshall, ITTF Publications Editor)
Les joueurs dans la controverse pour l'obtention de places aux finales du circuit mondial junior de l'ITTF au Cap en octobre où tous ont passé avec succès les phases d'ouverture de l'Open Junior Français à Vern Sur Seiche ce mercredi 6 juin 2007.
C'était une journée réussie pour les quatre principaux classés.
Les français Abdel-Kader Salifou et Vincent Baubet ainsi que le Lettonien Matiss Burgiss et le Japonnais Kentaro Miuchi, de meme que pour les Indonésiens, Gilang Maulana et Ficky Supit Santoso qui, en début d'année, avaient obtenu des titres sur le circuit mondial junior de l'ITTF.[...]

06/06/2007 Les principaux joueurs de l'open junior français ont des yeux rivés sur le Cap (Ian Marshall, ITTF Publications Editor)

S'assurer une place dans les prestigieuses finales du Circuit Mondial Junior ITTF qui se tiendront à Cape Town en Afique du Sud en Octobre est une priorité pour les joueurs engagés dans l'Open de France Junior qui vient de débuter à Vern-sur-Seiche mercredi 6 juin 2007.
C'est le douzième tournoi de l'année du Circuit Mondial Junior. Le meilleur classé dans les Simples-Garçons est Abdel-Kader Salifou du pays d'accueil et Matiss Burgis de la Letonie est le second.[...]

C'est un grand plaisir pour l'équipe d'encadrement du programme "ITTF Global Junior" d'accueillir la fédération française de tennis de table en tant que nouvel organisateur du World Junior Circuit en 2007.
L'Open de france Junior 2007 se tiendra dans la ville de Vern sur Seiche, située juste à la périphérie de Rennes, et le coup d'envoi de la compétition aura lieu à la Halle de la Seiche le jeudi 6 juin 2007.
C'est une Fédération Française en plein mouvement; ils avancent, ils sont prêts à organiser le onzième tournoi de l'année de l'ITTF World Junior Circuit. [...]
